Rest In Peace – Ganesh

Dear Friends, colleagues and associates of Sarva Seva Samily Sanstha (4S),

This is with great grief and bereavement that we are having to inform you of the demise of our beloved and dedicated staff Shri. Ganesh Chandra Parmanik. He succumbed to COVID-19 infections after a long fight in the  hospital. He was just 30, got married last year and is survived by his pregnant wife, parents and siblings. His wife is a homemaker and both parents are non-earning members with two brothers still perusing their studies.

He got infected with COVID 19  three weeks back while at his duty location at Katihar, Bihar. Subsequently, he went to his family in Balasore, Odisha, for proper care and recuperation. When his condition deteriorated, he was first admitted to a government hospital and then to a dedicated COVID hospital in Bhubaneshwar. We tried our best to provide him with best
available treatment and he was shifted to ICU and thereafter was on ventilator for past 13 days. But as it turned out, we, all our and hospital’s efforts could not do enough to save him.

Since he was showing some signs of improvement over past few days, as per the hospital, it came as a shock to all of us when we heard about  Ganesh’s demise on the early hours of May 25, 2021. We are writing this letter to express my and all 4S  staff’s, heartfelt sadness and to share the grief with you. Our sympathy is to his entire family and we stand in solidarity with the grieving family.

Ganesh was a great asset to our  organization and he was also the favourites of all his team and
senior management. He was known for his soft nature, ownership of his duties and impressive approach to work. In last three years of Ganesh’s service, he was nothing but exceptional. He, with his dedication and efforts, had set new records for others to follow and achieve. He played a significant role in establishing our implementation work in seven aspirational districts of Bihar and Jharkhand. He will always be remembered by the organization and sector for his tremendous contribution in some of the poorest districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.

At this hour of difficulty, and as are going to miss our beloved colleague for years to come; we also need to stand and support his family. We as an organisation and staffs are doing our best possible in this direction to provide some short-term and long-term stability to his family but our efforts may not be enough. Hence, we as 4S team, appeal to all in the sector and outside to please consider extending any support to his family, especially his wife and yet to be born child.
